Addendum to Invitation
Per the newsflash on the Learning Portfolio from May 2021, the HPCSA has been in process of reforming and redefining the CPD process towards enhanced competency and towards maintenance of licensure.
In alignment with this reform, the EMC learning portfolio is aimed to guide genuine learning and shift from tick box or event driven CPD to processes where self-learning is encouraged, authenticated upskilling, feedback and quality measures are in place.
The objective of such the Learning Portfolio in terms of the compliance side of the EMC2 would be GP/ learner centred and support the ability of GPs to apply such learning to attain a certificate so as to qualify for being accredited to serve as solo GP, team member or manager in the context of NHI. This compliance side of the proverbial square sets the foundation for practices being able to render measurable quality outcomes and so participate and generate revenue from planned projects relating to co-ordination of care and disease management.
The registration on the EMC2 portal is similar to that done for masterclasses like POPIA and other clinical upskilling. We anticipate 3 focused Dr Learning Portfolio sessions in due course to supplement this PM training:
- Anticipated Compliance Requirements in terms of healthcare reform
- Value Based Care – the shared philosophy and practice principles for quality outcomes
- Technology Stack Usage – for adaptability in a changing environment – success pointers for referral pathway management & understanding of the importance of the electronic healthcare record
