The EMC group inclusive model (abiding by Competitions Commissioner and the HPCSA ) , ensures that all ready, willing and able providers can apply for all contracts. You have already signed a network agreement.

This EMC² Participating provider agreement is your once off agreement to benefit from EMC² projects that have been designed to capacitate your practice to prepare for National Health Insurance/ Universal Healthcare and to enable appropriate Revenue Generation

These include compliance aspects, the learning portfolio, electronic procurement, stock management, co-ordination of care including disease management and referral management as well as data analytics including data relating to improved healthcare outcomes…refer page 2 of this document.

The value achieved is from more informed choice for your practice, competitive market related prices and effective chronic disease management, thereby ensuring long term and sustainable patient management.

Some of the Strategic comparative advantages of this unique approach:

Prepares your practice for compliance with forthcoming compliance from the HPCSA, Office of Health Standards and Compliance and other related reform regulation
Ensuring that your practice health records complies with legislative requirements and facilitates continuity of care including that of the HPCSA and other regulators
Allows medical schemes via their administrators and pharmaceutical companies to play a role in disease management programmes at the coalface shifting emphasis from constraints of formularies and other administrator driven managed care tools
Allows doctors to target specific interventions in an evidence- based manner aligned with research and development

Enhanced PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS for

i. Participating in various projects with government and medical scheme administrators

ii. General practice management

iii. Enhanced practice management in respect of EMC²functionality and planned projects

Chronic Disease management:

i. Choice of medication from participating pharmaceutical companies

ii. Patient education electronic literature and support channels

iii. Couriered medication to medical practice site

iv. Scheduling of quarterly or 6 monthly GP consultation visits

Healthcare outcomes & Data management:

i. Clinical indicator tracking

ii. Chronic patient database profiling ( coalface based managed care interventions shifting from centralised administrator driven managed care)

iii. Financial compensation for quality, pooled and anonymised data

iv. Participation in clinical research trials

Specialist Referral Management via Cirrus Cloud Based Systems

i. Electronic referrals ( ease of administrative burden )

ii. Patient tracking ( patients returns to primary care provider )

iii. Report tracking ( management reports in line with shared electronic health records )

EMC procurement systems for the procurement of health care products and medicines for healthcare practitioners

i. Medication Product Files including

1. Product showcase

2. Product recalls and notifications

3. Product launches

4. Doctor detail aids

ii. Information exchange, education and communication to the Dispensing Family Practitioner through:

iii. Marketing and advertising structures on the E-Procurement platform

iv. Hyper-Pooled Procurement: by virtue of aggregated buying of non SEP products

1. Emergency trolley purchases

2. Surgicals and consumables.

3. Medical equipment – BP machines, ENT Sets, ECGs, Nebulisers, defibrillators, oxygen, UV steriliser

4. Point of care equipment - Hb, Glucose, Lipogram, HbA1c, Urine microAlbumin, HIV, with range accommodating burden of disease at medical practice

v. Logistics & Pick Up Points:

1. Ordered products

2. Couriered chronic medication to medical practice sites

3. Transport of blood specimens to select pathology partners

4. Public private partnership in terms of NHI/ universal healthcare pilot projects

Converting your medical practice into a Medical Neighbourhood

i. Preparation for Community based NHI models of healthcare

ii. Management of patient education centre at medical practice

iii. Part of larger Corporate social initiatives

iv. Liaison and working partnership with auxillary healthcare workers

Support Services to EMC² Offering shall be enhanced by

An integrated portal where you liaise with the EMC network and practice management units via an in house support ticketing system
Where the in house team shall communicate on your behalf directly with designated ordering portal to ensure an accurate and effective ordering process
Enabled Stakeholder representatives visits to doctors on a call cycle that meets individual requirements
Enabled appointment system for your practice
